The Magic of Ischia

Ischia was dedicated to the God Apollo and his nymphs and is an island of volcanic origins. The thermal water has powerful healing effects on the skin and the respiratory system. Relaxed, yet seductive, this volcanic island is home to over 100 thermal springs that have countless healing properties and make it a popular wellness destination for those in the know. The mild climate and hot water allow for all-year-round bathing. That, combined with its stunning selection of sandy beaches and dramatic historic sites make it the perfect place to reset your mind, body and soul.

Refreshingly cool, even on the hottest of days, the thermal water is great for invigorating showers and delicious to drink. As it evaporates, the water releases all its natural moisturising properties, leaving the skin as soft as silk. The hyper-thermal water bubbles up from the seabed at 90°C and mixes with the sea water to provide a therapeutic experience unique to Ischia unlike anywhere else in the world.

Ischia is an immense garden of natural well-being –its thermal waters have therapeutic and curative benefits from the volcanic activity boiling underground, and its natural mud baths and thermal springs make the island a powerful beauty and therapeutic force of nature.
Ischia’s natural springs, mud baths and the benefits of its mineral waters have been known since 98 B.C – the most recently recorded was at the time of Pliny the Young in the basin of Gurgitello. Ischia’s thermal water is alkaline and contains sulphur, iodine, iron and potassium.
